You'll Never Walk Alone
Walking along the shores of Loch Etive with my dog, Bonnie, the other day, I saw a small flock of Teal ducks treading the water a few feet offshore. Suddenly, en masse, they took off down the loch leaving one duck flapping terrified in the grip of a seal which had struck from below. The dog rushed to the loch edge and barked at this commotion resulting in the duck being released by a somewhat startled seal.
Disasters may suddenly strike us at times, appearing without warning from unexpected sources. We are paralysed with fear not knowing where to turn. Help may not be at hand. There is One, however, who promises to be with us through thick and thin. Our Heavenly Father said ' Do not fear, I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you; when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned- I will never leave you nor forsake you'. This is the help available to us all who call upon His name. You'll never walk alone! |
